EASTHAMPTON, MA – Autism Connections, the western Massachusetts Autism Center serving families and individuals in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties, is hosting the 29th Annual Autism Conference on April 23 at the Springfield Sheraton Monarch Place Hotel.

The day-long educational conference brings together parents, educators, self-advocates, professionals, organizations and agencies to learn, be inspired and connect.

An Exhibitor Showcase will highlight a large number of local and state organizations specializing in autism related services and products.

New this year are morning and afternoon breakout sessions which focus on autism related topics, including Relationship Building, Communication Supports, Psychological Evaluations/Results, Autism Insurance Law and many more!

Keynote speakers Gina Terrasi Gallagher and Patricia Terrasi, co-authors of the best-selling book Shut Up About Your Perfect Kid, A Survival Guide for Ordinary Parents of Special Children, will speak about the frustrations, stigmas, joys and challenges they have faced as parents of children with disabilities.

Autism Connections was founded in 1989 by parents of children with autism and has served thousands of local families as they navigate the complicated world of autism.

Staffed by Autism Specialists, Autism Connections works closely with family members to provide a wide variety of services and activities through offices in Easthampton and Pittsfield, and through referrals by the Department of Developmental Services.

Autism Connections is a program of Springfield –based Pathlight, a leading social services organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in western Massachusetts.

This year’s event is made possible in part thanks to the generosity of presenting sponsor Radcliffe is the Reason and Arthur Too! Fight for Autism.
