Challenge Diabetes Program (CDP) is a free program that welcomes diabetics and the general public to learn about the disease. It is presented by a person who is not a medical professional but has diabetes and knows it first-hand. Practical information is presented in a friendly way that is free of the judgment many diabetics encounter. CDP also offers helpful insights that can help diabetics come to terms with the disease and help manage it realistically.
Diabetics, family members, friends and the general public are welcome to attend. If we dispel the myths and spread the facts throughout our community we’ll create a supportive environment that results in healthier and longer lives.
The program was developed in participation with the YMCA of Greater Springfield and Baystate Medical Center. It will be presented by Chet Galaska, author of The Diabetes Book: What Everyone Should Know.
CDP is presented in three one hour sessions. Each session includes time for questions and answers.
