Jewish Genealogy: Finding Your Roots

February 9th, 2020.

11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Springfield JCC 1160 Dickinson St. Springfield MA 01108

Who’s your great-great-granddaddy? Where’s that shtetl in Ukraine? And what really happened to Aunt Sheindel? With the popularity of consumer DNA kits and genealogy shows on TV, more folks want to research their ancestry. But so much to learn, and where to begin?

Experts from the Western Massachusetts Jewish Genealogical Society can help. Choose from two different presentations:

Getting Started: You’re new to this. Learn enough about the basics to make a plan and start your research. Presenter: Nina Sitron

Climbing Higher: You have a little experience and you’re ready to take it to the next level. Learn about methods and resources for digging deeper. Presenters: Joel Novis and Howard Smith

Co-sponsors are the Springfield JCC and Bay Path University’s Kaleidoscope Series.

To pre-register, call the JCC at 413-739-4715. For more information, email research@wmjgs.org or visit us on Facebook: Western Mass Jewish Genealogical Society.
