Purim is a joyful and fun-filled holiday which includes games, festive meals, and community celebrations. It retells the story of Jewish life in Persia and specifically the story of Esther, the Persian-Jewish queen. Purim observances often include games, costumes, and yummy triangle-shaped cookies called hamentashen. On Purim, Jewish tradition teaches that we must "increase our joy."
